The Mission
The Great Grandfather Club has been recording and promoting ancestor stories in a continuing multi-media film and video project that is helping to support the production of two local documentaries, Fiji Time, directed by Alexandra Lacey, and Reunion, directed by Elizabeth Cabrera. These films explore the histories of two family ancestors, Alexandra’s great-great grandfather and Elizabeth’s great-grandfather, and the role that these men played in the creation of each filmmaker’s identity. Both films look back in time to individuals who, following the tides of colonialism and migration, changed the courses of their families’ lives, as well as helped sculpt the present day demographics of the globe.
